I’m an associate professor in the School of the Digital Humanities & Computational Social Sciences at KAIST (the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Dept. of Speech, Hearing and Phonetic Sciences at University College London from October 2017 to August 2020.
Using electroencephalogram (EEG), I’m interested in investigating how listeners process information (e.g., acoustic, lexical) in the speech signal in real time. My recent research has primarily focused on speech processing by second-language listeners, and how listening effort modulates specific aspects of speech perception. I am also involved in other projects on child language acquisition, second-language speech learning and Korean prosody.
